Our Busy Weekend
We started off the day in the District of Rock Island where the office I work for, Cardiovascular Medicine was one of the sponsors for the Heart Walk. I took Blood pressures for the hour before the walk started. Then Dave and I walked with the kids the 3 mile walk. We walked over the Centenial Bridge and the Arsenal Bridge. After the walk we came home long enough to drop me and Cheyenn off for our afternoon nap while Dave and Riley went to Jungle Bungle as a reward for Riley finishing his third book for AWANA. Then they picked Cheyenne and I up and went to Propect park in Moline.
Me at the end of the night: Sunburned, Tired, and hurting. Definitely not my most attractive picture.
Happy 8th Birthday to Riley
For Riley's 8th birthday we blind folded the kids and drove to Chuck Cheese's as a surprise. Cheyenne wasn't to thrilled about the blind fold, kept saying, "Mommy, I can't see!" and I kept telling her, "you're not supose to see". She didn't like that answer.
Riley got a speed racer car that does flips and a Speed Racer Activity book.
Visiting Momma D.
The 8th Wonder of the World
It is a wonder to me how these two can fight during the day, yell and call each other names. Yet sleep so sweetly together when they are afraid of a storm.
What's In Your Backyard?
This is the raccoon that was caught at the daycare that Riley and Cheyenne go to. They caught him by tieing a can of partially opened sardines in the cage. The raccoon wen in the cage to try to open the can further and wham-o! We was caught just as we were arriving and one of the little boys was looking out the window telling Gina that there was a puppy. No, Steven not a puppy. It hissed and would roll the cage trying to get out. It was quite entertaining. Gina had a friend of theirs come and take it away somewhere safe to release it.
DeLay family hanging out.
Here are some random pictures of us just hanging out. Dave was suppose to be grilling dinner in this shot. But, he and Riley thought it was fun to shoot nerf balls into the basketball hoop with Riley's launcher.
The last picture is just Cheyenne being beautiful.
River Bandits Baseball Game
Riley was involved in a reading program at school that awarded him for a free ticket to the River Bandits Game. On the way to the game we took picture of the flooding at LeClaire Park downtown Davenport (picture #2). This was April 27th. It got a lot worse before it got better. The picture of Riley standing near the sand bags was just a couple of feet in front of the entrance gates at the ball field. Water was actually seeping through the sand bags. We were told that during the game the flooding rose another foot. The game the next night was cancelled because of the flooding. The parking lot that we usually park in was totally flooded with feet of water. Riley was in the a parade at the beginning of the game. Picture number 3 is of him and our friend Joel Thiessen (on the left of Riley). The last picture is of Riley coming into homeplate after running the bases after the game. The River Bandits wont he game that day.
