I don't know how well you can see the Cardinal in the tree. When I took Riley to school this morning I saw a pair of males and a pair of female Cardinals. I turned around to get a good picture and there was one left. ANyways! We are freezing here in Davenport. dave called me after he went to work and said it was -16 degrees F, didn't know what the wind
was. When I took Riley to school it was -12 F. I'm the wind chill is an unbelievable number. Today I am home with Cheyenne. She has a bad cold. She is currently in Riley's bed sleeping, so I'm taking some time to catch up blogging. I was hoping after the holidays we would slow down, we have some but I so want to sit around wrapped in a blanket wiht absolute quiet and nap on the couch, read a magazine uninterrupted and sipping hot chocolate. May be I'll get to do that if Cheyenne sleeps long enough. So... We went to see Dave's mom a couple a weeks ago. She was doing a lot better than we heard and thought. She returned to the nursing home the day before we went to see her. She knew all of us, sat on the side of her bed and visited, played with the kids and held Cheyenne. I saw great relief come over Dave has we visisted with her. She seems frail but better than we thought. Dave's family made it sound like she was on her way to heaven and maybe she was and the Lord had strengthened her. So we are thankful she is better. We have had some fun activities since the first of the year. Riley went to his first sleepover at someone house. His best friend Chase turned eight years old. When he was packing his sleeping bag he stopped nad looked at me and said, "Mom, I can't believe my best friend is 8!" "Wow he is so lucky". Well Riley will be eight in 4 months. Now that is hard for me to believe. Cheyenne on the other hand is almost completely potty trained, and will be three Feb. 18th. We have been working on "big girl" skills. She still wants to be the baby sometimes and other times she all girl. We went to Bald Eagle Days, the Camping, RV and Boat Show, Riley's Boy Scout Grand Prix, and have AWANA GRand Prix next week. Last night we had weigh-in and check-in for the cars. I got to run the practice runs. It was really cool to see all the cars, especailly the girls cars. So that's out brief update for now. Hope all of you are staying warm and taking your vitamin C.
